Biographical note

Dr Colin Dawson joined Casualties Union in the 1950s and in the 1960s became Honorary Treasurer and a Trustee. He resigned as Treasurer in 1969 in protest at the way proposed changes to the objects and constitution were being handled. However, after Eric Claxton resigned as the Council Chair, Dawson was elected Chair of the General Management Committee in 1970, a position he held until 1983.

In 1966 Dawson also became one of Casualties Union's Senior Medical Advisors and remained so until 1995.
