Biographical note
Prior to the USAID grant for the Project, the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare (HEW) were approached for initial funding for ICM/FIGO planning workshop in May 1971. The aim of the workshop was to develop programme for Regional Working Parties to support the goal of incorporating family planning in midwifery training and practice in developing countries.
