About this work

Description

Correspondence regarding an invitation to contribute as a guest speaker to a post graduate programme at the University of Glasgow.

Crick replied (21 November, 1960) that he thought he had "nothing of interest to you, but Sydney [Brenner] is doing some fascinating experiments on the so-called 'messenger RNA'. We propose that instead of speaking on viruses or molecular biology in relation to genetics one of us will come and speak on the problem of how the genetic message gets from the gene to the ribosome." The correspondence suggests that it was Brenner who attended and spoke, on 26 April, 1961.
