This calendar contains folklore about the American Indians taken from the following publications: Oliver La Farge, American Indian; Eric Stone M.D., Medicine Among American Indians; Louis B. Wright, Everyday Life in Colonial America; Harold E. Driver, Indians of North America and Folklore of the American Indians (author not given).
The tales include folklore concerning, for instance, the 'arrow swalling' act, (which was performed as part of a medical ritual) and the 'Bull Roarer,' (which produced such a might sound that its use was thought to help the sick and infirm).
