Biographical note
Project Summary:This project will see the development and performances of an original interactive theatre performances entitled Black Tonic by innovative theatre company The Other Way Works. Our team of multi-disciplinary artists will collaborate with Professor of Neuroendocrinology in the development of this production. The performances will creatively investigate disruption to human Circadian Rhythms as a result of both shift work and transmeridian air travel, provoking audiences to consider the social and ethical impact of our desire for a 24 hour lifestyle. The performances will take place in a hotel: allocation that provides a concentrated microcosm of a 24 hour society. The site-specific performances will be presented in Birmingham and Manchester during the Autumn of 2008. Audiences will be 'checked in' to the hotel, and then walk through a piece combining live performance film, music and sound.
