Photograph of an oil painting possibly of Augustus Granville (1783-1872), Italian physician and writer, holding a skull. The painting was acquired at auction from Glendining on 24-25th October 1932, Lot 118, and accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum on 9th January 1933 (CC 7836) and on 8th March 1939 (R558/1939).
