Including no. 43a: letters by Brodie, Sir Benajamin Collins,, dated, chiefly autograph and signed but some in the third person and/or another hand. no. 1 has two cuttings of Brodie's signature attached. Correspondents include T. Pettigrew (no. 1) (possibly the surgeon and antiquary Thomas Joseph Pettigrew (1791-1865)), the surgeon Henry Lee F.R.C.S. (1817-1898) (no. 31) and the anatomist Sir Richard Owen (1804-1892) (no. 47). no. 13 is a testimonial to Thomas Madden Stone (d.1894), Librarian of the Royal College of Surgeons.
