LETTERS PATENT to Charles Anthony Perpigna, Advocate, of Paris, in the Empire of France, for the Invention of “ Improved Apparatus for Effecting the Combustion of Smoke in Fire-places.”—A communication. Sealed the 8th August 1854, and dated the 7th June 1854. i (Void by reason of the Patentee having neglected to file a Specification in pursuance of the conditions of the Letters Patent.) PROVISIONAL SPECIFICATION left by the said Charles Anthony Perpigna at the Office of the Commissioners of Patents, with his Petition, on the 7th June 1854. I, Charles Anthony Perpigna, Advocate, of Paris, in the Empire of France, 5 do hereby declare the nature of the said Invention for “ Improved Apparatus for Effecting the Combustion of Smoke in Fire-places ” to be as follows: — This Invention relates to a mode or modes of supplying a current or currents of air to fire-places, for the purpose of consuming the smoke generated therein. In applying this Invention to bakers’ ovens, I fit into the crown 10 or roof of the fire-place a set of pipes, which are open at both ends, and are braced together by a cross bar or bars.
