Includes photographs of: landscapes of Coonoor and mountain railway; McCarrison's house 'Landsdowne', with exterior views, the formal gardens, and flowers such as prize delphiniums in the 'Lady Garden'; Lady Helen and R McCarrison in the grounds of 'Landsdowne' and inside the house; a house called 'Surrenden'; views of Wellington; Kodanaad tea estate, workers, house and gardens; portraits of Todas - an aboriginal tribe of the Nilgiris; snake catchers; R McCarrison with members of the Royal Commission on Agriculture, visiting his laboratories at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, 1926; staff, including Dr Lucy Wills, Dr Metha and Dr Sankaran, and interiors of laboratories of the Pasteur Institute, 1929; visit of The Viceroy and Vicerine - Lord and Lady Irwin - and HE the Governor of Madras - Lord Goschen - and Lady Goschen to McCarrison's laboratories at the Pasteur Institute, 1927.
