About this work

Description

Commentary (photocopy) by D M Blow, in the format 'This Week's Citation Classic' (a series published in the journal The Scientist) on Blow and Crick, "The treatment of errors in the isomorphous replacement method," Acta Crystallographica, 12 (1959), 794-802.

Blow's commentary (which describes his first meeting with Crick and the immediate insight which Crick was able to contribute to Blow's research) is from The Scientist, 3 (1989), 16: "With amazing rapidity he grasped the essence of the problem. In an hour he had shown me a new geometrical picture of the errors in phase angles and their relation to errors in an electron density map."

The file includes a brief typed comment by Crick on their joint paper (initialed and dated 18 January, 1990).
