The Arts and Humanities Research Board (AHRB) was established in October 1998, and funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for Engladn, the Department for Employment and Learning in Northern Ireland, the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales and the Scottish Higher Education Funcing Council. AHRB supported three main programmes: Advanced Research; Postgraduate Research and Training; and Museums and Galleries.
