Description

Letters collected together by Mayneord for the purpose of writing a memoir, spanning his career and including both professional and personal correspondence.

Correspondence includes scientific commentary and discussions with colleagues; correspondence and account of the disposal of radioactive materials in a disposal pit at Pollards Wood Research Station; correspondence concerning appointments and offers of positions: including his appointment as reader in Physics with special reference to Medical Radiology at University of London; appointment as member of the British Institute of Radiology; and a request to join the Home Guard. Also includes some articles and papers concerning Mayneord's work and research interests. Includes obituary and order of service for Sir Rock Carling, as well as personal correspondence from Rock Carling; and other correspondence and papers. Also includes Mayneord's birth certificate and travel documents for his work with the National Research Council of Canada. A few letters are in French and German.
