Biographical note
Weiner was Reader in Physical Anthropology in the Department of Human Anatomy, University Museum of Natural History, Oxford. He was General Secretary of the Society for the Study of Human Biology, President of the Royal Anthropological Institute and Director of the Medical Research Council's Environmental Physiology Unit. Weiner also acted as Convenor for the Human Adaptability Project of the International Biological Programme (IBP) 1963-1972.
