Lectures on Chemistry delivered at Edinburgh University: notes taken down by William Falconer M.D. [1744-1824]. Vol. 2 Signature of Falconer and date Feb. 25th. 1765 on the first fly-leaf. First leaf headed 'Chymistry Part III'. Vol. [3] No signature, and no date. Begins 'Of expressed veg[etable] Oils'. It is possible this may be a second part of Vol. I. Vol. [4] Signature of Falconer, and below 'Dec. 15. 1763-1765' on the first fly-leaf. At the end is a two-page list of Chemical Signs. The date 1766 is inscribed inside the upper cover. Publication/Creation

1763-1765

Physical description

3 volumes Vols. 2, 3, 4. 4to. 24 x 191/2 cm. Original half-calf binding, worn. A blank leaf follows each leaf of text. Vol. I is wanting, and probably a fifth volume. Some of the original numerations on the spines seem to have been deliberately mutilated: the three volumes have therefore been provisionally numbered from 2 to 4.

Acquisition note

Purchased 1933.
