Papers and correspondence relating to Stanley Browne's award of a non-vocational scholarship to students of the London County Council Evening Institutes, (he was awarded a Senior County Scholarship tenable for 2 years from Aug 1927 at KCL to read for an arts degree. Award was confirmed in Dec 1927) covering applications and examinations; regulations of the scholarship; relinquishing his post at Deptford Town Hall; Browne's letters to the Education Officer of LCC reporting on his progress at King's College London in the inter-science exams and re commencing a medical course at KCL from 1928/29; extension of scholarship from Aug, 1929; various other scholarships and funding awards Browne obtains during that time. Also includes references for Browne's original application and typescript notes of his scholarship interview 1927, and some related correspondence
