Reproduction of an illustration of The Gray's Inn Lane implement or hand axe, possibly from Evans, John (1823-1908): The ancient stone implements, weapons, and ornaments, of Great Britain London : Longmans, Green, Reader, and Dyer, 1872. The Gray's Inn Lane hand axe is a pointed flint hand axe, found buried in gravel under Gray's Inn Lane, London, and now held by the British Museum. The images are on two separate glass plate negatives taped together.
