1 l + 18 pp (4to. 23 × 19 cm.). Author's holograph MS. On the recto of the single leaf is a holograph note of presentation of the book from Peter Collinson [1709-1753] to Fothergill dated March 16 [1748].

Purchased 1934.

Biographical note

John Fothergill obtained his M.D. at Edinburgh in 1736, and was elected F.R.S. in 1763 [see the Dictionary of National Biography]. Peter Collinson, naturalist and antiquary was elected in 1728 [Cf. ibid.].
