Description

Photograph of an illustration from an unidentified 14th century manuscript on alchemy, held by the Albertina Museum Library, Vienna, depicting a still for mercury with a scroll containing inscription "Sublimatio Mercurii" above. Another photograph of this image was accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum on 26th August 1935 (PHO 3793). There are holes in the film in the lower left.
