About this work

Description

Collection of medical, chemical, and alchemical extracts, receipts, etc.: in German and Latin. No. 9 is headed 'Communicatum Anno 1595 Die Solis et Conversionis S. Pauli a medico in Pintika [?] duobus milliaribus ab Halle in Schuaben Santer'. The 'Processus Rogerii Bachi' apparently refers to Roger Bacon. Santer is also mentioned again, on fol. 183v, and perhaps again on fol. 163v as 'Matthaeus Sandner'. The presumed writer's name appears again in the entry on fol. 163v 'Clarissimo magistro D[omino] O. P[artholomaeo ?] Doctori medico Noriburgensi excellentissimo humanissimo Carolus Cortesius D. M. Gallus Aualonensis observantiae primae ipso aequinoctii Verni die Anno 1589 Arcanum [dedit]'. The name of Cortesius is also found as the author of Nos. 11 and 13. Produced in Nüremburg.
