Description

A detailed outline (typescript) and a much-corrected typescript draft of Bauer, Crick, and White, "Supercoiled DNA," Scientific American, 243 (1980), 118-33.

The file also contains letters from James White, correspondence between Crick and Scientific American, a typescript (photocopy) of Liu and Wang, "DNA-DNA gyrase complex: the wrapping of the DNA duplex outside the enzyme," a typed fragment discussing "the concept of the linking number," and a short note (holograph) to Crick identifying "one inconsistency in your paper."
