Description
Lease of property (a 'messuage or tenement nowe two messuages or tenements') in or near Ireland Yard, for a term of thirteen years. Granted to William Iles, tailor, by John Bernard of Abington, Northants, and Elizabeth his wife, daughter and sole heir of John Hall of Stratford upon Avon, doctor of physic, by Susanna his wife, daughter and sole heir of William Shakespeare, late of Stratford upon Avon. Signature of William Iles. This deed probably relates to the property near Ireland Yard purchased by William Shakespeare in 1613. See DNB Vol. 51 (London, 1897), p. 381.
