Dear Sir,—It has not been in my power to re¬ ply sooner to your letter. I sincerely wish you suc¬ cess ; and from my knowledge of your publications, and of your experience as a Lecturer, I believe you to be well qualified for the duties of such an office. I leave London for the Continent to-morrow.
