Correspondence with Trueta's daughter, Amelia Trueta de Strubell, re Trueta's last illness and death and arrangements for the publication of an English version of his memoirs. Chain was to have written the preface to this, but he was unable to finish it before his own death in August 1979.

Earlier letters are about nomination of Trueta for the Nobel Prize, and the death of his wife in October 1975
