Description

Photograph of two South American gourds containing curare (arrow poison). The one on the left was previously part of the Wellcome Historical Medical Musuem but is not held by Wellcome Collection. The other was part of a set of eight from British Guiana (modern day Guyana) that was presented to Burroughs Wellcome & Co in November 1936 and passed to the Museum in 1950 (accession number R41/1950). It is not held by Wellcome Collection.
