About this work

Description

Note-books on Geology, compiled while a student at Birmingham University, and later at St. John's College, Cambridge. Birmingham & Cambridge Written partly in pencil, and copiously illustrated with rough pen and pencil drawings and figures, some coloured in crayon. The first 2 vols. have as title ‘Course I, II: Geology. Winter and Spring term 1905-1906.' Except perhaps for the last volume, most of these notes seem to have been made while the compiler was a student at Birmingham University. No. 8 is a ‘Laboratory Science Book for Zoology' used later by Lillie for geological notes. It originally belonged to Theodore Norman Winning [1884-1946) afterwards Recorder of Grantham, when a student at Birmingham University and contains his notes on zoology, dated 1903-1904.
