About this work

Description

Four bundles of fingerprints taken from prisons in India, forwarded to Galton by E A Henry. The fingerprints were collected on pre-printed forms and include the prisoner's name, caste, age, village, police station and district. Approximately two hundred and fifty fingerprints in total. Also includes a compliment slip and a copy of the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, published 1 January 1895.
