In the cupboard (artwork)

A painting in Rita Simon's Archaic Massive style, depicting a face. The work was created by an adult psychologist on a long weekend workshop. She was recalling that as a child she was frightened of a cupboard that did not shut properly. When Simon asked her what would come out of the cupboard she said she didn't know, but would paint it. This information is taken from conversations between Rita Simon and Wellcome staff between 1995 and 1997.

The title and date have been taken from wording written on the verso.
