Description
Individual certificates presented at Trade Fairs and Exhibitions, for 'best in show'. Often judged against other pharmaceutical companies. These were international events, and several are for overseas countries. Awards include those presented to named individuals as well as to the company as a whole. These were presented with medals (for the gold, silver and bronze placements). They primarily survive for the early period of the company.
Certificates were awarded to Burroughs Wellcome & Co, Wellcome Physiological Research Labs, Wellcome Chemical Research Labs and also to the manufacturing companies which Burroughs Wellcome & Co represented. The individual records are marked accordingly.
