Description
In May-June 1949 J W Boag undertook a tour of institutions in the USA building or running cyclotrons; C.1 contains a summary of the information he was seeking. Gallop undertook a similar tour in October-November 1950. The records of this tour are more extensive; C.4 contains his reports from the USA, in the form of letters, and scraps of [later] `additional notes' on various institutions. They were re-ordered and scored through as the reports were typed up, so the carbons (C.5) have been retained in this collection since they show the chronology of Gallop's fact-finding.
