Biographical note
This award was traditionally given to people who had travelled extensively in the fight against epilepsy. The principle was then enlarged to mean candidates who had worked to improve interntional relationships in the field of epilepsy without having physically travelled anywhere. Nominees for the award had to have worked above and beyond the call of duty and to have shown personal invovlement in the field of epilepsy rather than a job well done. The candidates also needed to have shown leadership in programmes, services or treatment methods on an international basis and by his or her efforts caused a signficant strengthening of interntional developments.
