Description
These notebooks are predominantly commonplace books, containing a very miscellaneous assortment of topics and types of entry, including journal entries, drafts of lectures, speeches and letters, jottings of things Dawson found interesting, as well as notes of names and addresses. Many have had pages removed, possibly for filing elsewhere. There are very few dates but F/9-13 would appear, from the subject matter, to have written largely just before or during World War II.
