About this work

Description

Six examples of nude male and female photographs with the studio details in the centre. In the guise of 'anatomical reference for artists', photographic studies of nudes of both sexes were widely marketed in Great Britain by the 1920s. Advertisments in publications such as 'Health and strength' made available by mail order photographs usually sold in sets. This is a scarce example of an advertising card for a studio practising this form of marketing
