Description
'Priory Court', 30 Farringdon Lane, EC1R 3AW, London was purchased by The Physiological Society in 2012. Now the Society's permanent headquarters, the building was renamed Hodgkin Huxley House (HHH) in honour of two distinguished physiologists, Sir Alan Hodgkin and Sir Andrew Huxley, recipients of the 1963 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine along with Sir John Eccles. Meeting rooms are also named in honour of distinguished past Members of the Physiological Society.
A tender was put out to re-design the building for occupation. Three companies were considered: Maris, Area2 and Peldon Rose. The successful contractor was Maris.
HHH also houses two tenants, the Science Council and Understanding Animal Research, both of whom share a common goal, promoting and supporting the science base.
HHH was officially opened by The Rt Hon David Willetts MP, Minister for Universities and Science, on 21 May 2013.
