Biographical note

Project description:Musical performance is essentially a physical activity and the nuances of a great performance are brought about by exceptionally skilled use of the body. Performance also makes extreme demands on the body and the physical problems among professional musicians are both common and debilitating. Despite this, the training of musicians rarely covers the biological basis of music making. This project addresses this deficiency but also gives musicians the chance to engage in science to study the physical nature of their own playing or singing and to pose and answer questions of their own devising.
