George Teeling Smith

The folder contains papers, also 1 audio tape and a CV (appointed OBE in 1982). Teeling Smith was NOT a Wellcome Foundation employee by 1962-1995 was the Director Office of Health Economics (OHE, founded by ABPI). As such he had dealings with a range of pharmaceutical companies, this interview gives background details about the industry as a whole. The interview refers to: * references to his great grandfather at T&H Smith c.1840-1920 his backgrounda s a mathematician and his work at Flockhart and Bayer; the company from 1950's; comparisons with other drug companies at the time; PR of pharmaceutical companies; * drugs - change from biological to synthetic drugs.
