Presented by Miss B. Wilson, 1929, and an unrecorded donor in 1950.

Biographical note

The author obtained his M.D. at Edinburgh in 1881, and in 1890 was appointed physician to the Essex County Asylum, Walthamstow. He was interested in criminal psychology, and wrote two books on the subject: Unfinished Man in 1910, and Education, Personality and Crime in 1918.
