About this work

Description

The only correspondence with the Channel Islands Nursing Associations which survives is that pertaining to the German invasion and occupation during the Second World War, apart from recruitment discussions and other routine matters in 1938. The arrangements for evacuation of nurses, and the decision of many to stay, in 1940, is followed by only very brief messages until 1945, when arrangements were made to replace those who served for the duration of the war.
