The Pathology and Treatment of Sexual Deviation First Edition. Correspondence, chapter scripts, background research

Papers relating to the compiling of the first edition of Sexual Deviation, including: correspondence regarding or with contributing authors about their chapters; Rosen's correspondence with Oxford University Press about editorial matters; Rosen's manuscript notes from various published sources; Rosen's book planning notes on how he wants the chapters to link, what he wants out of each author re their topic, instructions to authors on chapter length, contract, references and scope; off-prints and papers by various authors; journal and press cuttings. The majority of papers are dated between 1960 and 1963. The file contains leaflet programme and registration form for the original conference which gave birth to the book, 'The Pathology and Treatment of Sexual Deviation' Two Day Conference, 11-12 October 1960, Royal Society of Medicine, London (Paddington Group Hospital Management Committee Portman Clinic contribution to World Mental Health Year). Many of the chapters in the book were engendered by papers given at the conference.

The off-prints and papers by various authors comprise mainly: paper 'Cultural Differences in Sexual Deviation' by Dr Morris Carstairs; off-print 'The psychopathology of Fetishism and Transvestitism' by Anthony Storr Journal of Analytical Psychology Vol.2 No.2, 1957 (annotated by Rosen); paper 'Aspects of the Metapsychology of Phantasy' by Joseph Sandler and Humberto Nagera, for presentation at the BPSA meeting 6 Jun 1962; typescript paper 'Homosexuality and the Rorschach Test' by Mr Coates, c.1959; 'Notes on homosexual episodes in a male patient' by M. Masud R. Khan.
