Nursing Staff

Material was originally housed in one ring binder and has been removed to three folders and arranged alphabetically by staff name. Files comprise incoming and outgoing copy and original letters relating to the management of the nursing staff. Examples of subjects covered in the file include superannuation enquiries from former employees; notifications to staff who have successfully completed a course in Mental Nursing; letters of reference for nursing staff and requests from other establishments for references; resignations and letters of dismissal; enquiries as to vacancies at the hospital; invitations to Dr and Mrs McCowan to staff events; letter from the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Glasgow about the experiences of student nurses who spent time at Crichton Royal Hospital; and reports and an enquiry into the conduct of a nurse.
