Biographical note

George Fraser was Director of the Human Genetics Knowledge Base, a constituent part of the Knowledge Base Research Program (KBRP) at the Lister Hill National Center for Biomedical Communications, at the National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, USA. He headed a group using V. A. McKusick's Mendelian Inheritance in Man to explore the application of computer techniques based in part on artificial intelligence in communicating biomedical knowledge to the medical profession.
