Description
The Prize was awarded to Chain in March 1954, the centenary of Ehrlich's birth, and gave him particular pleasure. He later became a member of the Council of the Paul Ehrlich Foundation (see E.137-E.145). Chain's Paul Ehrlich Lecture was on 'The Development of Bacterial Chemotherapy' (Bibliog. 45). (See G.9) This was first visit to Germany since 1933
