' y v, J- V . ■ YE Rich and Great, who wealth and honours prize, Know, these are blessings only to the Wise. True Wisdom teaches erring Man to know, Virtue alone is happiness below. Walk, then, in Virtue’s ways, with sober sense, Partake the joys of pure benevolence. Like him, from these sweet paths who never rov’d, Of man a lover, and by man belov’d, That road to bliss with steady steps pursue. The peace of others ever keep in view, To Industry give work, to Hunger food, And taste the luxury of doing Good. i I Additional Admonition. Let Britons be gay On the First Day of May, Round the May-Pole, like Britons of old; And of each loving Pair, May the Maid be as fair.
