About this work

Description

Sketchbook created by Audrey Amiss, containing mostly watercolour sketches, all in colour, and a few pencil and pastel sketches in monochrome and colour, all are annotated. Some pages have been rubbed or doused with water to create textured paper damage, which seems to have been a compositional decision. Subjects mostly include various street scenes and tourist sites around central London, and Billy Smart's Circus.

The date has been estimated during cataloguing and is based on the contents of the volume.
