Biographical note
The East Surrey Mobile Physiotherapy Unit, the first of its kind in the country, was established in 1942 at the instigation of Janet Dennison and Norah Gardner, to give treatment within a ten mile radius of Redhill. The Unit was financed by voluntary contributions until Apr 1984 when it was integrated into the East Surrey Health Authority.
In 1946 Janet Dennison established the Mobile Physiotherapy Service Association, which was supported by voluntary donation, and wound up in 1978.
