Description

The decorative designs in this book are contemporary with the Statue of Artemis, reproduced as a frontispiece. Section on 'Wellcome' Materia Medica Farm with photographs. Colour reproductions of preparations stained with 'Soloid' microscopic stains. List of Typical awards at International Exhibitions from 1905-1913. Inserts memo for 1916' Always specify 'Tabloid' in full'. Advert for 'Tabloid' Hexamine, advert for Lubafax Wellcome diary 1917 address and suggestion form. Diary retains original pencil. Insert: pamphlet 'Illustrations of 'Tabloid' Medicine Chests and Cases' printed in colour. 2 copies: one annotated.

Physical description

2 copies Bound in Morocco leather with wallet to hold letters stamps, cards, etc. Endpapers gold base colour with green printed unicorns. Text block machine made paper, text printed in black, paper pre lined with blue and brown printing ink. The Diary has all three edges in red. Embossed blind on spine '1916' and embossed unicorn on front There is a gold tape bookmark with an inch and centimetre tape printed on one side and ''PRICE LIST, PAGE XXIII AT END 'WELLCOME' BRAND CHEMICALS, PAGE XV AT END' printed in dark blue. The tape has an advert attached to it, in the form of a paper box of 'Tabloid' 'Malt Extract Haemoglobin' on one side and 'Tabloid' 'Malt Extract Glycerophosphate on the other.
