    Aberdeen, 2nd September, 1868. Dear Sir, I enclose for your inspection some of my Testimonials as to fitness for the posts of Surgeon to the Ophthalmic Wards of the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Eye Institution, and Blind Asylum. Owing to the short period which has elapsed since I became aware of the vacancies which were about to occur, I have not as yet had time to get together so satisfactory a set of Testimonials as I could have wished, but I enclose you copies of those which I have up to this time obtained, and expect, in a few weeks, to be in a position to forward for your inspection another set of valuable ones.
