Other biographical papers

Reid's files have not been maintained exactly as found, since much material from the Medawar papers had been filed with items of other provenance; this material was removed and replaced where it belonged (as far as this could be ascertained).

As far as possible principles of provenance have been applied to this material; for example copy letters of PBM's and other biographical material received from his friends have been grouped together. In some cases provenance has proved impossible to ascertain and it was decided to group like material with like, for example interviews with PBM by various individuals, recollections and memoirs of friends and colleagues touching on his life and career. Except for F.52 this material is almost entirely not by PBM himself (copies of letters excluded).
