Description
Many of these images are from cases Burkitt saw at Mulago Hospital and Makerere College Medical School. Many of the photos stamped on the back 'Makerere College Medical School Photography Department'. However it is likely they also include case images collected by Burkitt from other doctors in different parts of Uganda or Africa.
Dating on the images is not systemmatic or comprehensive but they probably date from the late 1950s to early 1960s, with few dated beyond 1965. They appear to be mostly from Burkitt's time employed in the Colonial Service (rather than by the MRC from 1964 onwards).
