Description
This section contains material relating to Burkitt's general clinical and surgical work in the Mulago Hospital and Makerere Medical School. It covers jaw tumours and congenital deformities as well as a host of other conditions and diseases. The bulk of material on Burkitt's lymphoma is catalogued in Section B.
Burkitt may have compiled some material in this section contemporarily and others at later dates. The section includes some of his early work, pre-Africa, and also images taken whilst on research 'safaris' in Uganda and the rest of Africa, (that is, images are not entirely cases seen just at Mulago/Makerere).
In a draft catalogue of this collection the section was originally dated 1948-1964.
