Description

Correspondence and papers relating to enquiries and contacts from journalists and media researchers about articles they are writing or television or radio programmes, or films they are making on hospitals and hospital care. Covers a wide variety of issues including operating theatre errors leading to injury or death, hospital 'mistakes', complications during operations, compensation for hospital mistakes, visiting hours, experimental drugs and research on patients, hospital catering, composition of wards and mixed sex wards, casualty and emergency services, junior hospital doctors, accommodation for parents on children's wards, hospital security, information to terminal patients, waiting lists, appointments and waiting times, operations and consent, medical records confidentiality, industrial action at hospitals, hospital nurses, etc.

Mainly memoranda and notes on questions received, some letters from national and local television and radio companies (e.g. Thames TV, BBC, Granada TV), journals, magazines, and national and local newspapers, newspaper and magazine articles.
